Okinawa Pan-Pacific Film Industry Forum

Okinawa Pan-Pacific Film Industry Forum will be taking place alongside the first edition of Cinema at Sea - Okinawa Pan-Pacific International Film Festival opening on 23 November 2023 in Naha, Okinawa.

Filmmakers from the vast pan-pacific region seldom have the chance to meet each other, let alone working with each other on cinematic projects. But the Pacific Ocean does not only separate, but also binds together through a similar experience with the ocean. We wish to create space and opportunity for film industry professionals of the Pan-Pacific Region to connect and exchange ideas. One of the main goals for the Industry Forum is to connect people from the industry, build partnerships and create space and opportunity for filmmakers to work on projects together.

To establish the festival as an international hub for networking in the pacific region, the festival will invite projects and filmmakers from across the Pan-Pacific region, and is planning to offer filmmaking residencies and workshops for future editions.

■Industry Program

The industry program will kick off on Tuesday, 28 November with the Cinema at Sea-Pitching Forum, where filmmakers from the Pan-Pacific region will present their projects to a panel of decision makers. Furthermore, masterclasses, forum talks with industry professionals, and networking opportunities will be part of the program.

■Okinawa Editing Lab

Important Update: Okinawa Editing Lab Rescheduled to 2024

Dear valued participants and industry enthusiasts,

We would like to inform you of an important change regarding the Okinawa Editing Lab, a key component of the Okinawa Pan-Pacific Industry Forum. Originally scheduled for November 28-29, 2023, the Editing Lab is now set to take place during the next edition in 2024.

This decision after careful consideration of the situation. The primary motivation behind this rescheduling is the modest number of submissions received for this year's Okinawa Editing Lab. To ensure a dynamic and comprehensive experience for all participants, we have chosen to postpone the event.

Our objective for the 2024 Okinawa Editing Lab is clear: to offer an even more enriching and enjoyable experience for all involved. We are eager to provide a robust platform for high-quality content and collaborative opportunities.

While we understand that your current projects may progress beyond the editing stage by 2024, we wholeheartedly invite you to be part of the Cinema at Sea - Okinawa Pan-Pacific Film Industry Forum. Whether showcasing your completed work or introducing new projects to the global stage, we look forward to welcoming you. We acknowledge the potential inconveniences this change may cause and are grateful for your understanding and continued support. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact us at industry@cinema-at-sea.com.

We express our deepest appreciation for your understanding and cooperation, and we look forward to reuniting with you for the 2024 Okinawa Editing Lab.
