In 1975, renowned French director Pierre-Dominique Gaisseau embarks on a journey to Panama to capture the sacred Kuna community, particularly highlighting the revered status of women. Living among the Kunas with his wife and young daughter Akiko, the filming project lasts a year but is abruptly halted due to financial constraints, leading to the reels being confiscated by a bank. Fifty years later, the Kuna community anxiously awaits the rediscovery of "their" film, now a legendary tale passed down through generations. Unexpectedly, a concealed copy is discovered in Paris, reigniting their hope and curiosity.
